Nestled on the balcony of Canigou, Mas Llossanes extends over 11 hectares
The Mas Llossanes estate is located in Conflent (Roussillon), facing Mount Canigò, the emblem of the Catalan Country.
It is a high-altitude vineyard managed using organic and biodynamic farming methods.
To complete its authenticity, it is made from indigenous grape varieties, including 2 rare grape varieties: Chasan and Chenanson.
Organic & biodynamic farming
The vines are managed organically according to the principles of biodynamics. These practices meet very precise specifications. In addition to this, we implement other actions that promote the life of our soils and reduce our environmental impact.
Here are some concrete examples:
At Mas Llossanes we transform all our organic waste (stalks, marc, pruning wood, etc.) into a biodynamic compost used in our vineyards. To bring fertility to the plants, we use sowing in winter, which serves as green manure. It is a mixture of legumes and cereals that creates organic matter, promoting soil fertility.
Sheep graze in our vineyards. We use hydrosols from aromatic plants that complement the treatments in order to boost their effectiveness, and therefore use smaller quantities. Our barrel cellar is ecological: we installed it inside the old concrete vats of the cooperative in order to ensure good natural thermal insulation.

After two purchase offers on other
properties, we always returned to Mas Llossanes as if this place had brought us back
called. The second time we realized it was here

A DEPARTURE…
The first year, our farm did not have
only three things: vines, a
tractor and pruning shears. It was a big challenge for us because with that, it

One of the highest vineyards in France
Mas Llossanes is a high altitude vineyard of 11 hectares, reaching up to 700 meters, it is one of the highest estates in France. It is located in the sunniest region of the country: Roussillon. The vines were born in the 1940s, they take root on granite and schist soils.
The vines are between 40 and 80 years old, six indigenous grape varieties make up the mosaic of the estate: Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Chenanson, Cinsault and Chasan.
